I'm interested in online sources of German Documentaries, either free or subscription-
based. There's a great site for French documentaries (www.vodeo.tv) that lets you watch
as many as you want for 8 Euros/month. I was hoping to find something similar for German.

I know about ARTE+7, that lets you watch many of the programs shown on the TV channel
ARTE up to seven days after broadcast:

Any other good sites?

You can find documentaries also on the Mediathek of the broadcaster ARD and on that of ZDF.

They let you watch most of their programmes for some days after they’ve been broadcast (and some are available online longer than a week). And what is even better is that you can watch them legally and for free.

Not sure if it's quite what you want, but might be worth a look around:

I didn't try, but it looked as though you might be able to download them with realplayer.

Not sure about direct download. However, I think that somewhere they have some video
podcasts. (I've mostly used WDR for audio podcasts).
