Since you can't be everything to everyone I decided I would try to be something to someone and wrote an Italian course for some friends of mine in a way that would be most likely to succeed in getting them interested.
It's a sort of Assimil type of thing, revolving around stories with a parallel translation, explanations and some theory. And audio recordings, naturally, by moi.
The episodes have been posted on Youtube and the texts on Wikia.
I'd love to hear what you think. Your comments, criticism and heckles are welcome.
I put the course under a Creative Commons license in case anyone would want to remix it or use it a starting point for something else. (For the utter geek there is even a git repository with all the sources written in Markdown.)

I checked out a couple of them and I think they are a really good beginners course. And
by the way you have a really good Italian accent. One criticism is that it is a very
short course. Each lesson is a about a minute long so maybe you could expand on the
subjects.

Well, I'm already done with it, so there won't be any changes now. But the reason the
lessons are so short is because it's hard to digest content in a new language, so I
wanted to give people small pieces to chew, avoid scaring them off.
