I am writing a report.
"The amount will reach 1,888,888 dollars."
How can I make this sentence look more professional?
2 Options:
1) "The amount will reach $1,888,888 dollars."
2) "The amount will reach $1,888,888 USD."
Which is OK?

If you write "$1,888,888", then adding "dollars" or "USD" to the end is unnecessary.
Having the dollar sign in front is enough clarification.

That's true enough for most general purpose publications, however there may be an exception if you're writing a report in finance or economics, where a dollar sign doesn't necessarily refer to USD currency -- lots of countries use "dollar" as their currency. Some conventions call for a cifrão instead (sometimes used for USD currency when local one is also dollars, sometimes the other way around). You might be better off looking up the specific notations or conventions that is typical of the literature you're writing.
I'm not an economist or a finance guy, so take the following with a grain of salt:
1) "The amount will reach $1,888,888 dollars."
This is definitely redundant.
2) "The amount will reach $1,888,888 USD."
This would be OK if you're emphasizing that the dollar is USD and not some other country's currency.
But for general purpose writing I'd go with either one of these
0.a) "The amount will reach 1,888,888 dollars."
0.b) "The amount will reach $1,888,888."

In our audit firm, we mostly write USD 1,111,111.11 or (when it's clear that the currency
is US dollar) $ 1,111,111.11, or sometimes US$ 1,111,111.11. Having $ before the
number and USD after is definitely not common practice.
