Just in case anyone was wondering, I ordered what I thought was a new version of the Hans-Wehr Arabic dictionary:
Hans-Wehr Dictionary
But it appears to be just a reprint of the previous version except that the book is much larger (textbook size) and thus the print size has been considerably expanded. Easier to read, but not quite as convenient as the smaller paperback. I'm keeping it, but if you already have the dictionary, no need to upgrade unless you want the larger font.

Thank you for the information.

To me this version looks a bit fishy - I wonder if it is legitimate.

According to Amazon, this edition is published by "Snow Ball Publishing," which is rather suspect since all translations need to be licensed by the publisher of the German edition, Otto Harrassowitz, Wiesbaden.

And since the only licensed English copies that I'm aware of were published by Spoken Language Services, NY and Librarie du Liban & Macdonald & Evans Ltd, London this looks like a bootleg copy. The web site of the publisher also doesn't exactly instill confidence in their legality.

Since it wouldn't be the first time that bootleg copies are offered for sale on Amazon, you may want to inform Otto Harrassowitz (verlag@harrassowitz.de) and ask Amazon for a refund.
