I managed to pickup a product called Tell Me More Spanish by Auralog. It is an
interactive piece of software. It seems to have a tremendous amount of content and tools within the software. The problem though is that it does not seem to have much guidance in terms of how to navigate the program. Has anyone used this before, any advice, do you know where I can obtain a guide on how to use this software? Thanks Jim 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Oh, boy. I also got this thing. Well "Talk to me Spanish" that IMO is a "Tell me more" subset. I never got far with it - I hate to be ruled by the software of how I should proceed with learning :-) Not that it seemed too hard to figure out what to click to make it tick; IMO. Once you manage a few lessons the format keeps repeating.

I use Tell Me More French. I must say that I helped me in some way. It's good when you want to practice your vocabulary - crosswords, first - listening, second - translating. After a few laps you memorize the word. In my opinion it is better for someone who already knows a little bit of the language the program is designed to learn. It's not a good solution for a complete beginner. This program is more useful when you want to revise. But you can of course learn some new things, but not as efficiently as you should. There are no grammar explanations and it tells you to transform the text into some different tense without first showing you the conjugation pattern. It puts more stress on practising. A complete beginner shouldn't confine himself only to Tell Me More, but should use some different sources, where grammar is explained in a better way. Nevertheless, I consider Tell Me More as a very powerful program, which taught me some french, and helped me with revising a good piece of it.

I have used it for French and German and it is good software - Like William8, it gives you a broad set of exercises that test most bases. Like all language software it is expensive but it is a great revision tool.
