He didn't spell it out in this video, but from skimming his other videos I think he means courses like "Made Simple," "Passport," or "Berlitz."

Great minds, etc. After finishing two tapes of FSI French I had the same thought! I'm motivated now, but three months of FSI could be a challenge. It certainly is dry. Ive been overlapping the end of Pimsleur with the beginning of FSI, so I think I'll take your advice and try to overlap FSI with Assimil. |

As a matter of fact, I'm doing the Assimil French With Ease & the FSI French courses together too. Although, FSI seems a tad dry at times, I'm glad to report that I find that these two approaches seem to complement each other very well.
BTW, if you're into FSI, try the FSI French Phonology Course. Those drills are a great way to clear the confusion that a speaker of English faces while learning a language like French; the spelling may be the same in both but the word is pronounced a whole lot differently in French than it is in English!
