Hello everyone!
I like very much the simplicity and richness of the "English Grammar in use", check out here:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_14?url=search-alias %3Daps&field-
keywords=grammar+in+use&sprefix=grammar+in+use  &n bsp;
I am asking your help to find something similar for French, German or any other language.
Pay attention that the series is completely in English, only the foreword is in a native language, like in Ukrainian,
on my copies, but no too much wording.
edit:
May be I need to be redirected to the right forum?

The equivalent in french is Grammaire progressive du Français, published by CLE International. There are three levels,

Niveau Debutant: http://www.amazon.com/Grammaire-Progressive-Du-Francais-Exer cises/dp/209033858X/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1314768734&sr=8-3

Niveau intermédiaire: http://www.amazon.com/Grammaire-Progressive-Du-Francais-Exer cices/dp/2090338482/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_c

Niveau avancé: http://www.amazon.com/Grammaire-Progressive-Francais-Niveau- Avance/dp/2090338628/ref=pd_sim_b_3

You need to buy the Corrigés (answer key) separately.

For German I haven't found anything like it.

Yes, those are probably the best known ones for French and good as well (even though I would expect the Avancé level to include some even more advanced grammar as well).

Another good thing is Grammaire-350 exercises by Hachette. It is an older edition of four or five levels. There is as well newer edition of 500 exercises but I don't believe those are better.

There are others as well but they are not that much of the In Use format.

I have seen similar things for Spanish (Gramatica del uso del Espanol, Gramatica by Anaya, Uso de la Gramatica espanola) but haven't looked for German so far.

Thank you very much, Luk!
Exactly what I was looking for.
I had seen these before, but could not decide on my own.

edit;
Thank you, Cavesa, for the Spanish links.
I need one for a German grammar reference, please, someone?

Thank you for these links. I had a look on Amazon, and found they also have a series on communication (Communication Progressive Du Francais) and another on vocabulary. Does anyone have any comments on the value of using two or three of these series together?

The best book of Frehcn grammar that I have came across is "Grammaire expliquée du français" niveau intermédiaire

http://www.amazon.com/Grammaire-Expliquee-Du-Francais-French /dp/2090337036/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1315948461&sr=8-2

It's a reference book, it doesn't come with exercises. On the other hand, you can use that book forever since explains an enormous amount of grammar thoroughly.

Communication Progressive Du Français comes with dialogues and vocabulary for a number of situations that you can find in normal life. It's a "cute" resource, but you don't need it that much. There are also three levels of these books.

I used Grammaire progressive du Français debutant and intermédiaire (I completed the first one and did various lessons of the second one). Later, someone gave me the 3th book but I haven't used it so far.

These series always repeats a few of the lessons seen in the previous book. I think you should get the second volume and leave the first.

There is a separate exercise book for this.
