Hello! I have a question :)
Is pimsleur just for English people who want learn another language? Because I'm Italian and I would like learn a new language like Spanish but i think that pimpsleur is just for english people... Is it true? Any suggestions? Thanks Red 1 person has voted this message useful | |

I'm not sure if I exactly got what you mean, but I'm pretty sure that the only Italian
based language course Pimsleur provides is the one for ESL ;) I'm not 100% sure though... 1 person has voted this message useful | |

But your Italian is good enough for using Pimsleur. The speaker speaks a clear and slow English, and the vocabulary is pretty limited. If you want to spend 45 hours to learn some 300-500 words, go for it!

I wholeheartedly suggest Assimil - and you as an Italian are lucky to have Assimil for many languages.
Not that I wouldn't suggest Pimsleur as an introduction to the language. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |

I totally agree with Haukilahti when he states that Pimsleur might come in handy at the
very beginning of your language journey, but - I'm warning you here! - be aware that that's the MOST boring audio course ever made on planet earth! Obviously, you decide what works best for you, but... :P As far as Assimil is concerned, well, I find it EXTREMELY useful and effective! It's certainly a valid option, but I'm sure there are also many other great language courses out there ;) I invite you to have a look at my log if you're interested in knowing about my personal experience with Spanish ;) 2 persons have voted this message useful | |
