Hello everyone. I am a native speaker of both English and Spanish and I was interested in creating a podcast to help
others learn one of those languages. I am leaning more towards Spanish at the moment. But before getting started
I wanted to get peoples opinion on what types of things keep them interested in a language podcast. Do you prefer
a podcast that is mainly aimed at teaching grammar, conversation and listening comprehension, a course with
supplemental material, or any other form you may have encountered? Your feedback would be very helpful and
appreciated. I am passionate about languages and I am considering a career in teaching languages so whatever
input you provide will help me get a better idea on how to approach this and lead me in the right direction. I
believe this would be a good way to get practice. Thanks for your time :)

Someone else asked a similar question in this thread: Learning French by podcast.

I recently found out about a Persian podcast (through a twitter post) that has a really approachable format: Chai and Conversation.
This type of format makes it super easy to follow, keeps interest up with new vocabulary/everyday subject matter and gets the student repeating already learnt words and phrases.

Thanks for the information :). I wouldn't have asked if I had come across the post you mentioned. There was a lot
of insightful information on there. I have a slightly better idea on how I plan to undertake this task. Thanks again :)

You could also join SpanishPod101 or a similar site for a bit in order to learn the
trade. It has the advantage of paying you, rather than having to pay to run your podcast.
I work for GermanPod101 and I've also been doing some GreekPod101 lately. It's the same
company as SpanishPod101.

At the risk of suggesting something that may be overkill...
I've been contracted to develop an ESL beginner course (something I'm really excited about), and I've been tasked with using Moodle.
Moodle is really deep and there's a learning curve to implement it, but it allows for a lot of really creative things to be implemented within courses.
My plan is to use a basic podcast format for the main lesson, and augment it with quizes and games. Moodle fits nicely for this.
Anyway, if you have server space and are interested, check it out at: http://moodle.org/.
It's free and open source software.

You guys/gals are awesome! This is indeed a good wealth of information. I am going to spend the following day
(Monday) doing more research on the sites you guys have provided for me. I am very serious about making this
idea a reality and I can't tell you how happy I am that people are nice enough to share this with me. Thanks again
:):) If anyone is interested in collaborating on this Spanish podcast idea with me, let's get in touch and we can
discuss this further.
