A question in topic; I am italian, which Romance language do you think needs less time (not that don't want dedicate a few time to it.. eh).. it can be easier to learn.

I think Spanish would be easiest for you in terms of pronunciation and
vocabulary. French is very similar grammatically, but has inherently diffiucult spelling and pronunciation. 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||

Maybe we should consider Portuguese as a branch of Galician, since the language has its origins in the actual region of Galicia and Northern Portugal; both regions were named as Galicia before Portugal's idependence. 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||

I haven't yet explored Portuguese, Catalan or Romanian; I learned Spanish first, then Italian and now I am learning French (while still continuing studies in Spanish and Italian to keep them fresh). I feel like this has really benefitted me because Spanish was a great foundation and opened my eyes to the joys of learning a foriegn language. From there I went to Italian, which was close enough to Spanish for me to understand many things, but far enough that it still required diligent study. Italian satisfied a lot of my hunger for a new language, but then I began thinking about French. I've started French and it is also pretty easy for me to grasp and remember because it is so similar to Italian. So, the order in which I learned was Spanish>Italian>French and I'm debating which one to try next. I'm thinking Portuguese, but then the debate remains - Brazilian or European?
Anyway, I'm sure everyone has their own method and has advice about what worked for them. This is what worked for me - for what its worth. :) 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||

when I was in Barcelona, they had signs up in Spanish and Catalan. The only difference seemed to be Catalan uses the letter x. 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||
