I’m in Beijing for the next 7 days, and would like to buy some Mandarin TV dramas. Most of these come with
Mandarin subtitles. I want to find shows that also have English subtitles available.

I don't mind if I need to wait to get back to the US to get the English subtitle version; I just want to make sure that
the shows I buy here have English subtitles available. I now realize I should have made a list before coming here, as
most of the sites I want to browse for English subtitles are blocked in China.

Question: Could you tell me the names, preferably in Mandarin, of any shows you think I’d like (see below) that
have English subtitles available? Please provide links/info for acquiring the English subtitle version.

I don’t mind streaming, but shows that can be downloaded or purchased would be even better.

What I want in a drama: It must have a happy ending, be generally up-beat, have good conquering evil, the guy
getting the girl, etc. I prefer comedy/romance, but some adventure, mystery, and suspense thrown in is fine. Pretty
girls are a big plus. It must take place during modern times. I prefer characters acting like real people, rather than
over-the-top evil or silly. That being said, I realize that most asian dramas have at least a few stupid scenes in
them; I’d just like to keep it to a minimum. Examples of Mandarin dramas that I like: The Struggle; Ugly Betty (I know
it’s silly, but all the other redeeming qualities make it acceptable).

No, the only requirement that it doesn't fulfill is the silly/over the top acting. And as I said, all the other redeeming
qualities make up for that.

Usually Chinese TV series don't have official subtitles because most TV series' mainly market is chinese mainland, but movies have.Like, uhh,There are some voluntary chinese translation teams make the chinese subtitles of American dramas for us chinese because American dramas won't offer that. It's all same ,so if you only want TV dramas, you should find them in your local website or something.

I can recommend a lot only have chinese subtitles.English subtitle····I don't know whether you can accept animation,If you can and you happen to be a fan of WOW,I highly recommend 我叫MT,(My name is MT) Official English subtitle, comedy, romance,   adventure,an ything you want. But I'm afraid you can only watch it online because it doesn't have official DVDs unless you can find where the Pirated CDs are in just 7 days.
