Spanish/French compared to Swedish/German | ||

I was wondering if anyone knows how big the similarities between French and Spanish are compared to the similarities between Swedish and German? I am studying German right now and even though it is a bit similar to Swedish, I don´t have any problems separating them from each other. But how would it be if I tried to learn both French and Spanish? Would it be harder to separate them from each other than it would be to separate my Swedish and German? What do you think? I personally find French and Spanish easy to separate. The feel of them for me are dfferent and I also find the sound easy to distinguish between the two. As a native English speaker I don't think you'd have trouble learning the two together, as a native Swede though (assuming that you are, apologies if I'm wrong) it could be different for you, I don't know.
You could always give it a couple of weeks of learning and see how it goes. If you feel they're too similar, maybe try again at a later date. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Alright, yes I might try it out and see how it goes. I actually know some Spanish already, but now I am considering learning some French as well. As you say they sound very different so that probbly makes it easier to keep them apart. Yes, Swedish is my native tongue.
