Is there a good language learning software program for Urdu? I have the Teach Yourself set, with the book and two CDs, and I was looking around for a complete software program such as Tell Me More. The website TopTenReviews has reviews for a bunch of other languages, but not Urdu. Tell Me More does not have Urdu (or Hindi) at present.
I like a course which tracks your progress and really recreates the classroom environment, one you can follow along with online (like Tell Me More and Rosetta Stone). I think these types of courses provide a structure that I find really appealing.
I personally find that a core "classroom like course" works really well as a sort of guidepost, at the center of all your other learning materials (books, CDs, DVDs, audio only, etc.) which is why TMM and Rosetta Stone look good. Besides, TY, what else is good for Urdu? Living Language maybe?
