Late-breaking news: apparently we humans used to speak like Yoda. No indication as yet that we had better access to the Force in the past, or light-sabres.

Any reference to Yoda's language is useless: his speech patterns are very irregular and you'd be hard pressed to determine a specific word order. I'd characterize Yoda's speech as much more frequently OSV than SOV.
