I am just starting to learn Mandarin Chinese so I can understand the similarities
between that language, Japanese and Korean. Do you know a website that can help me
with pronunciation and grammar lessons for Mandarin Chinese?

This might help you abit, not too sure how much though.
http://www.transparent.com/wotd/today/chinese.htm?date=03-05 -2009
This is the link for transparent language, it comes with audio and they give out a new word each day and also use it in a sentence.
You can see previous days by changing the date number in the URL
For example,
http://www.transparent.com/wotd/today/chinese.htm?date=03-04 -2009
http://www.transparent.com/wotd/today/chinese.htm?date=03-03 -2009
http://www.transparent.com/wotd/today/chinese.htm?date=03-02 -2009
http://www.transparent.com/wotd/today/chinese.htm?date=03-01 -2009
http://www.transparent.com/wotd/today/chinese.htm?date=02-28 -2009
and so on and so on. It has nothing for the grammar, but it will
at least let you hear the pronunciation.
They also offer other languages, to get to those simply change `chinese` in the URL to whatever language your interested in.
*****for some reason the forum keeps putting a space between the day and the year in the URL delete that space and the link will work*******

Try the Pronunciation and Romanization section of the Resource Module in FSI. You could continue with the rest of the course if you want but I'd recommend using something else since it doesn't use characters (especially considering your background with Japanese). But the P&R module is the best thing I've come across for learning pinyin.

at forvo.com, they have a database of foreign words with their pronunciations by native speakers. It isn't exhaustive but if you need a word you can post it and someone will usually have pronounced it for you by the next day.
