My one week off from work starts today. For next 9 days, I have two main goals: Edit my
book, and work on Spanish.
Since this log is relevant only to Spanish - I am hoping that focusing several hours on
it every day, using variety of methods will create a sort of half-immersion and hopefully
I can make good progress.
I started out with a goal to have basic conversation and reading/writing skills by
December, but now I want to do more, get to at least Intermediate level.

Today has been quite productive.
Michel Thomas Foundation
Disc 5 - Track 1
Sciptorium
Linguaphone
Disc 1 - Tracks 1 to 13
Pimsleur 1
Unit 4
Language Now
On the Go CD 1
Tracks 1, 2
Harry Potter Book 1
Chapter 3, read and listen
Movie: Los Chronocrimino (with English subtitles)
I am also debating whether or not to start a blog. I already manage other blogs, so I
am just concerned about time, and also wondering if just language log here is fine, or
my own blog might be better, as a long-term record of all linguistic pursuits. Still
thinking about it.

Yesterday's Log:
Harry Potter Chapter 4 - read and listen
Pimsleur 1 - Unit 6
Linguaphone CD 1 - Tracks 14 to 20
LanguageNow On the Go CD1 - Tracks 3 to 5
MT Foundation Disc 5 - Tracks 2 to 5
BYKI Flashcards
FSI Unit 1
I have come to the conclusion that I find the FSI course itself too boring. But I do
like the workbook. So I am going to use the workbook to practice. I will review lessons
now and again but on the whole, it's not the programme I am going to use to actually
learn Spanish.
Movie: Hable con Ella (I think FILM 4 is supporting my Spanish learning, by putting
excellent Spanish movies on at night)

Today's Goal: Minimum 4 hours of work on Spanish, not including the movie on TV tonight,
as that would be with English subtitles

What workbook? Is there some FSI Spanish book with questions and answers, or are you just talking about the book in general, with the audio transcribed?

On the FSI website, you can download 3 different PDF files for FSI Programmatic. One is
student manual to use with the course, instructor manual and a workbook which can be used
without audio (at least what I have seen so far).

Managed to do 4 hours of Spanish work today:
Byki Flashcards & scriptorium
MT Foundation Disc 5 complete (Tracks 6 to 11)
Linguaphone Disc 1 complete (Tracks 21 to 39)
Pimsleur 1 - Unit 6
Language Now, On the Go Disc 1 - Tracks 6, 7, 8
Assimil CD 1 - Track 1, 2, 3, 4
I still don't have the book, so just listened to the audio. I could understand most of
it, and picked up few new words.
Bewitched Episodes 1 and 2 in Spanish with Spanish subtitles
Harry Potter - Chapter 5, Audio and Text
Quite happy with today's work. But probably will only be able to do 3 hours tomorrow.
Trying to make the best of week off from work.

Could you give me a link? All I see are student texts under Spanish Basic: http://fsi-language-courses.org/Content.php?page=Spanish%20B asic
Also, you don't happen do know anything about Spanish FAST, do you? I've printed out and had self-published a copy of modules 1-12, and am self teaching with it, is why I ask. If I could find an instructor's booklet, though, that'd be amazing.
