Today I start writing a languange learning log, for I want to see if this may help me to strengthen my motivation. I apologize for the mistakes I may do writing in English. I will be grateful to those who will correct me, because I'm always eager to improve myself. For the first day I will just say which are my target languages: Polish, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Latin. My level is one of a beginner in all of them, unless for Portuguese in which I was an intermediate, more or less, and I could speak fairly well 3/4 years ago. I'm going to use the Assimil method for all of them, because I have the books in my native language, Italian, and I trust this method. Unfortunately for Latin I will use an old edition of the French Assimil method: "Le Latin sans peine".
Why so many languages? Maybe because I'm a little crazy and also because in this period I have a lot of time. But if I'll see that this doesn't work I may choose to focus on less target languages or just one of them. That's all for today, more tomorrow...

What did I do today?
Lección diecinueve of "Il nuovo spagnolo senza sforzo", of Francisco Martinez (27');
Décima sétima lição of "Il nuovo portoghese senza sforzo", of Irène Freire-Nunes and José-Luis De Luna (27');
Vingt-huitième et vingt-neuvième leçon of "Il francese senza sforzo", of Anthony Bulger (70');
Lekcja sześćdziesiąta ósma of "Il polacco senza sforzo", of Barbara Kuszmider (60');
Lectia secunda of "Le Latin sans peine", of C. Desessard (32').
The fact that I didn't start from the first lessons is due to having already studied some lessons in the past weeks or months. I have also some grammar books for Portuguese and Polish, but for now I think I'll use them very rarely. I'll continue keeping track of my progress in the next days.

Today I had unfortunately less time. I managed to do:
Lección veinte y veintiuna of "Il nuovo spagnolo senza sforzo" (28');
Décima oitava lição of "Il nuovo portoghese senza sforzo" (27');
Lekcja sześćdziesiąta dziewiąta of "Il polacco senza sforzo" (115').
No French and no Latin today even if they were on my plan.
The way I use to study is to listen to the texts read by actors, to repeat by myself and to try to understand exactly the meaning of every word; at the end I translate the text from native language (Italian) to the target language. The translation I do is mostly written, but also oral when it's more easy for me. Easy to say that for me the hardest language to study is Polish...I hope I will stick to my plan in the next days.

Today's study:
Trentième leçon of "Il francese senza sforzo" (44');
Lectia tertia of "Le Latin sans peine" (22');
Lekcja siedemdziesiąta and siedemdziesiąta pierwsza of "Il polacco senza sforzo" (176');
Décima nona lição of "Il nuovo portoghese senza sforzo" (17');
Lección veintidos of "Il nuovo spagnolo senza sforzo" (21').
For those who're interested in the use of flashcards, I can suggest their use, as I found them very useful for Polish: I make my own flashcards for the Polish verbs, that I found difficult to memorize and they work fine for me.

After a few days that I don't write in the log the best thing is to interrupt it. I hope the few things I wrote might be useful, but, honestly, I wouldn't mind if the moderator decided to cancel the posts 'cause I wrote little and less useful stuff compared to other forum members.
Best wishes to all the forum members for their languange learning efforts.

Have you given up your language studies then or just this log?

I wouldn't worry about how I look compared to other forum members' logs. We all have our own unique ways of learning things. The same goes for how we write.
While what you write may be useful to other people, it should first and foremost be for yourself, to track your learning. At least that's how I see it.
