Hello. It's been a while since I last posted here in my log.
Unfortunately the beginning of the year was very busy for me, with new projects and
clients on my company, so I ended up leaving my studies aside for a while.
I resumed my studies in the beginning of June, but I didn't post anything here at the
time because I wanted to be sure this time it would be for real. Well, I've been
studying daily since, missing only a few days.
I decided to focus on finishing the passive phase "Le Français en Pratique" from
Assimil, so in June that was my priority. I studied only a little German, listening to
DW Warum Nicht lessons and doing the three firsts lessons from FSI German BASIC.
Then in July I started the active phase of "Le Français en Pratique", and also decided
to restart from scratch the Assimil German, now using both the most recent version and
the 1950s one. Yesterday I did lesson 15 from all those three courses.
Now I'm really motivated, and considering adding even more material to my studies. I've
already ordered from Amazon the books from French In Action, planning to do it after I
finish the active phase of "Le Français en Pratique". Yesterday I decided also to try
the Linguaphone French course also, which I'll probably start today or tomorrow, but
with lower priority.
On the German side, along with both Assimil courses, I'll try to do the FSI one if I
have the time. I'm doing just once each lesson, so I guess I could do half an hour a
day. But at first, Linguaphone French will have priority over FSI German.
I also registered and downloaded the GermanPod101.com and FrenchPod101.com lessons, to
listen to while I'm on then gym. I'm current on lesson 09 on GermanPod101's Newbie
Series; and lesson 07 on FrenchPod101's Lower Intermediate Series. I'm adding the new
words from each lesson on Anki, for later review.
So, I guess I have a lot to study in the next months, to try to compensate for my
failure in the first semester. I don't know how I stand on this year's TAC, though.
I've already seen that I've been (correctly) removed from the team's list, so I don't
know if I should just remove the team reference on the log's title, and maybe continue
as an individual TAC, or if I can be accepted back on ÇÜ team (on probation, off
course).
So, that's all for now. I've still got some studying to do today.

Hi troglodyte, welcome back. Don't feel bad about not being able to study as it sounds like you had a lot going on earlier this year. All that matters now is that you're working on your French and German again. :) I saw that you updated your log just now so I added you back into the lists of active TACers for Team ÇÜ. Good luck with the second half of the year!

Last week was very good. I didn't do as much as I expected, but I was able to study
everyday.
German:
I've finished the 3rd week (21th lesson) from both Assimil "O novo alemão sem custo"
and "German without toil". I'm really enjoying doing two versions of Assimil at the
same time.
I've also listened two more lessons from GermanPod101.com's Newbie Series. Now I'm on
lesson 11.
French:
I've finished the 3r week (21th lesson) of the active phase from "Le français en
pratique", and did the Introduction and First Lesson from Linguaphone French.
I've also listened to three more lessons (8-10) from FrenchPod101.com's Lower
Intermediate Series.
@ellasevia: Thanks for adding me back to the list of active TACers.

German:
I've finished the 4th week from both Assimil courses on Saturday> Today I did a little
revision, and also the 29th lesson of both courses. I also reached the 15th lesson of
the Germanpod101 Newbie series on Friday.
French:
I've also finished the 4th week of Le Français En Pratique. Today I did a little
review and the 29th lesson. I will probably reach half of the active phase (35th
lesson) on Saturday.
I've also reached the 15th lesson of FrenchPod101 Lower Intermediate Series, which I'm
really enjoying. The GermanPod is good, but as I'm doing the Newbie Series, it's still
mostly in English. In the FrenchPod's case, although they still give the explanations
in English, they use French all the time too.
Until now I've been studying on my own, but this Monday I'll have a French lesson with
a teacher I hired on iTalki. She is French, but currently living in Canada. I'm
looking forward to that lesson, which I think it'll be a great opportunity to practice
my spoken French.
I've already had a little chat in French with her on Friday, and I think I did well.
She sent me a little text to read, and we'll discuss it tomorrow. I found the text
easy, but I think that talking about it will be a good exercise.
Have a nice week.

Hello everybody. It's time for another weekly report already, so let's do it!
German:
I've finished lesson 35 from both Assimil versios yesterday. It's just two weeks to
begin the active phases, so I'm very excited. I'm much more confident now then I was
last year, when I was doing Assimil for the first time.
French:
Since I started learning German, I've been a little lost regarding my French studies.
Now finally I think I've got things going smoothly. I've just got to the half of "La
Pratique du Français", the 35th lesson, and this week I decided to review the first
book, doing a quick active phase. I've done the first 3 weeks this week, up to the
lesson 21.
But the real deal this week was the French lesson I've got on Skype. It was awesome!
I've spent one hour speaking only in French with the teacher. I've made a lot of
mistakes, off course, mostly due to sheer out of practice, I think. But I was able to
communicate, and her final veredict was that I DO speak French!
I've loved the lesson, and I'll take another tomorrow, and I'm sure that they'll help
my French a lot.
So, now it's time to start another week! Bis bald!

Hello. This wasn't one of my best weeks, but I did managed to study everyday.
German: Finished lesson 42 on both Assimil books. This week I must begin my
active phase on the old German without Toil at lesson 46. The active phase of "O novo
alemão sem custo" will begin only next week, at lesson 50. I can't wait!
French: I'm also at lesson 42 of "La pratique du Français". I also reached the
lesson 35 at my active review of "O novo francês sem custo".
I also took another skype lesson last Monday, and it was great. Another whole hour
speaking French. I haven't scheduled my next lesson yet, as I'll have to work some
long hours next week, but I'll surely continue with them.
Have a nice week everybody.

Bonjour troglodyte,
Il est temps que je recommence à poser des questions à mes collègues sur leur progrès
avec leurs langues. Comment ça va avec tes langues? J'espère que tu fais beaucoup de
progrès, même si tu n'as pas beaucoup de temps pour étudier. Ne hésite pas à demander des
questions si tu as des difficultés :]
Jack
