I guess my last thread was too violent because it get taken down pretty quick so I'm going to try again, being
nicer this time :).
So, I bought Rosetta Stone in April and after a month I didn't like the product so I tried to return it to Barnes &
Noble because that is where I bought it. The problem was Barnes & Noble has only a 14 day return policy,
apparently for some you can understand if you like the product or not but I cannot. So I was just going to send it
to Rosetta Stone, but I found out that their policy only applied if you bought it from them. So I thought I'll just
sell it on Ebay or Craigslist, but after a little research I found out that that is against the law! So if you are going
to buy Rosetta Stone make sure you do the research and make sure you like it, or buy it online because based on
what I'm hearing not many like it, the reviews on Amazon are very misleading. So now I have a $300 box of
product that I will never use and apparently no one else will either. I don't know what to do, I just want my
money back and that product gone.
Sorry for those of you that like this product but it just isn't for me, please no one get offended by this, this is all
personal opinion and I just would like some help from the people here on this great forum. And for those who
are looking to start a new language, or a first (new language), just make sure the way Rosetta Stone teaches is for
you, or else you cannot sell the product (you can return within 6 months if you buy direct). I am not ranting I am
just sharing my experience with this product, if anyone has other opinions, please share this with me and the
rest of us on this forum. Thank you in advance.

You are perfectly right. Few people on this forum have anything nice to say about this company, but there are limits as to how you can express it.

You could carry it under a trench coat, fling open your coat to unsuspecting victims, and say,
"Psssst, hey buddy, want to buy the original Rosetta Stone?"
Alternately, if you have a wobbly table, you could slip a disk under a leg to remedy the situation.
There's probably a thread waiting to burst out here, 1001 uses for Rosetta Stone after the honeymoon is over.
#99: Move to Cuba, where reselling Rosetta Stone is beyond the reach of repressive authorities. |

I would give the company my 2ยข piece of mind :).
If you really want, just sell Rosetta Stone at a cheap price on ebay and make it "Buy it
now" and they can't stop it ;P. Or just put it on Craigslist. If that doesn't work, try
your local newspaper.

The point I don't understand is why it took you a month to lose patience with the product.
The claim that it can't be resold to others is also discussed here.

I bought the Hindi version for my daughter because she really wanted to learn HIndi and that's something I can't
help her with. While I had been curious about Rosetta Stone, I had never used it myself. But aren't the promos
enticing! Learn like a child, learn the natural way. Well, neither I nor my daughter, who just happens to be a child,
could make any sense of the pretty pictures and the swirling words above them. Through trial and error, we would
eventually match pictures to recordings, but it wasn't learning, just figuring out if it wasn't this one or that one, it
must be some other one! Thank goodness I only bought the intro package! Unfortunately, many people believe,
without having tried it, that Rosetta Stone is the way to go!
