I've got the ''30 days'' series but on this version(i think is the european release)
http://www.lafeltrinelli.it/products/9788804592198/Il_cinese _in_30_giorni_Con_CD/De-
An_Wu_Swihart.html
I've got an A2 level(SPOKEN ONLY) in chinese and japanese with this method, and i would
like to listen to others experiences.
These books helped me to learn the spoken language only, the japanese book has few
lessons about the writing system that are well written and that can give the basics of
the system and with some self-study you should be able to write in hiragana and
katakana with no problem, but the book itself does'nt give you the ''road'' to follow
for learn the writing system but only the theory and few excercices, it's all up to the
learner.
Anyway after finishing the book i've rewieved it from the start and mind-pictured every
dialogue of the various lessons, and in this way i've carved the book notions in my
mind.
This book gives an A2 level notions of grammar and vocabulary, but for really be able
to speak in that language in this given level you should use at least 15 days more of
rewieving for really get the language well in the mind.
(sorry for my English)
