I'd like to reach an A1/ A2 level in German by the end of August.
I'm currently using Livemocha to reach my goal. I must admit that I'm not really that motivated. I need to study German for college, but I don't like the language that much.
That being said, I'm ready to put in the work.
I'm on day 5, and I'm almost done with the first unit of German 101.

I don't feel like studying German today. I'll probably go watch TV in English instead, which is not such a bad move since I also want to improve my English!

I just finished studying German for the day. The Livemocha courses are getting harder and harder, but I'll live. I never realized how long ten minutes can last when you try to get the most out of such a small study period.

I'm still on day 5 of my German language mission. I'm sick and tired of Livemocha right now—I already did the 101 courses in several languages, and I swear I'll go crazy if I learn the words "candle" or "box" in yet another language.
I considered doing an extra lesson right before going to bed, but I think I'll leave it at that for today.
On the plus side, I've made some real headway. I can now construct sentences—albeit very shaky ones—and I'm done with unit 1 of German 101, which feels really good.

Uuuh, Livemocha... i'm not fun of this site. These courses seem to me very unprofessional.

Prz, I haven't tried it yet, but others on these forums have suggested Deutsch - warum nicht?. It's free from Deutsche Welle. Perhaps a change of content might help..?
Updated to address the post to: "Misslanguages..." too, of course!
If you mosey around the forums, you'll find many other German language learners and speakers. Reading some of their logs can also be very motivating.

Wow, thanks a lot for the links!
Once I'm done with German 101 (Livemocha) I may just give the A1 courses a try.

Songlines, I may start using your links earlier than I had planned!
Livemocha is driving me crazy. That being said, I'm not one to complain, so I decided to suck it up and finish German 101 anyway.
I my study session lasted longer than I had planned. I always multitask so I ended up putting in about 15 minutes, which is fine by me.
I'm on unit 2 of German 101. In other words, I'm currently studying prepositions and the "datif." Ouch!
My writing submissions are really shoddy and full of mistakes, but that's okay.
Five years ago, my English was terrible!
