I wonder, in my language the name for russian script is "azbuka" but I have never seen
used this word here. Is it only slovak/czech (russian) expression for it or is it for
english speakers known as well?

Azbuka is exactly the same name for the serbian cyrillical alphabet as well. Germans who know about the cyrillic alphabet might know about the word "azbuka" but they would tend to say that it is the russian word for it
