Hi.
Sorry if you're a native English speaker, would the same thing happen I would automatically switch to English, why bother, they would speak slowly in French, lol.
As for the pronunciation, I don't think it's a big problem.
Speaking French is only a problem if you're an English speaker, people swith to English. Just tell them you need to speak French, they might understand.
By the way, when the Brazilians speak French, if they don't prononce well, it's very hard to understand them.
And for god sake, try to get out of Paris or Lyon sometimes, less people speak English, nicer as well.
