Ya... significant others just don't understand... but maybe it had something to do with putting off sex for studying German... ahh it makes a better partner for me anyway, it won't desert me...

hahaha.. I had another girlfriend after that one, and I certainly could organize my
routine in a way that I could do a lot of sex and learn a lot of German. The Girlfriend
that I've mentioned used to learn German too, so, it was possible to achieve both things.

Volte's post is really good.

Have you tried the Compact Lernkrimis? They're for adults, so there are usually more words than what you would normally get with the kid's books. They also rank them according to the CEFR levels so you can easily incorporate the books into whatever other materials/programs you're using. I have Stirb, mon amour! which is B1 and comes with a CD.

to. You should get by with just a dictionary for the words you don't get.

In the past, I've listened to a lot of foreign language radio without really
understanding it, hoping it would come by osmosis, but while that can help with your
accent, intonation, etc, and with recognising individual words, if you are not careful,
it can slow down progress, and as you have a deadline to consider, you don't want too
many barriers to progress.

Alltagsdeutsch looks like it would be good, but DW ranks it at level C1-2. But they have loads of other stuff at B level, including a video "webopera" series called Jojo sucht das Glück . The videos can be watched online or downloaded as mp4's, and have German subtitles. You can also download pdf's including the full transcript and "Grammatik aus Aufgaben".

Try reading more news, listening to music and reading their lyrics
