I love the idea of using audiobooks to learn a language! Problem is, I can't find any for Brazilian Portuguese. Anyone know of any or where I can find some Brazilian Portuguese audiobooks? I'd obviously be much appreciative of any help.

I just started learning languages but have thought for some time that audiobooks would be a great way to learn a language. How great is it to listen to a native speaker read a complete book to you while you follow along with the text version? I love the idea.

Turns out I pace and walk a lot while I am thinking. Maybe one day I'll have a breakthrough on something and be considered a genius. Doubt it. :) I do like the idea of walking while language learning... I'm glad I read this post :)

jerikl, did you try to locate an online bookstore for Brazilian books? I am sure they stock audio books.

Jerikl, have you looked into publications for the blind. Ardaschir mentioned somewhere that he had some luck getting recordings that way.

Ugh. I'm sorry. I was trying to find some resources for you. But I know absolutely nothing about Portuguese.

I searched for "livro audio" and I saw some sites that might be interesting, but I have no idea. I figured I'd post them just in case they might be helpful.

Have you considered using continental Portuguese audiobooks?

Thanks for the links heartburn... I'm not quite sure yet if those links have
the material I'm looking for or not. The bbc.co.uk link looks the most
promising. Most of the audiobooks that the Brazilian bookstores refer to
are all in English :) They will usually refer to audiobook seller within the
US, kind of funny actually.

Admin, I've thought about using continental Portuguese, but it just
wouldn't be as helpful. One of the main reasons I'm looking for BP
audiobooks is for listening to a native Brazilian's accent. Very helpful
when I can see the word as I hear it in the native accent.

You may look for them on emule, especially under the name "Silvio Santos". There are some fairy tales narrated by him, though I'm not sure if the texts are also avaiable.
