I'm not sure what level of audio books you are looking for. This site has stories in 34 languages, including Brazilian Portuguese. Some of the stories have audio files. I hope this helps.

If anyone still needs information on Portuguese audio books, I've come across the following option:
http://www.bibvirt.futuro.usp.br/index.php
There are quite a few Portuguese books you can read online or download. On another part of the site, you can also find the full audio version of some of these books. There are a lot fewer of these than the text only versions, but they seem quite useful nonetheless.

Thanks axe02, much appreciated. Maybe that's what I should have been
searching for, "livro falado." Makes sense. Thanks randy310, I think I might
end up getting this material ... but only after I finish my other materials! I
have this habit of buying more related materials before I finish what I
originally started. Bad habit.

Hi, again, I'm from brazil , and I can say that we have some good books to teach portuguese, for example one book called "Avenida Brazil" or Pimsleur, rosetta stone, and you can find some audios in www.scola.org (in the link instal class), and if I can help you it"ll be a great pleasure.
O Português é uma bela lingua, mas por vezes um pouco difícil.

If you know the basic rules of Portuguese and can read Spanish, you can read Portuguese. Mello, how well can you read Spanish?
