Finished Lesson 1 of the AudiaLearn course...It's pretty good actually...Haven't done
assimil for a while. Been doing all audio to fit my schedule, I bought the 1995 version
of Linguaphone Russian Today Can't wait to get it...it has tapes!!! But for $30+shipping
it wasn't a bad deal.

Cryllic really isn't hard :) It will give you a thrill once you know what the letters sound like and mean.
It will probably take an hour or so to learn them :)

Switched it up a bit to keep things interesting. I've gone through 3 of the 8 Living
Languages Ultimate Russian. The vocab is decently varied, so I'm learning new words and
the dialogs are nice and quick. I've found it easier to stay focused by being unfocused.
In other words use a different course when one starts to get dry, for new found energy
and then bounce back to old one once you've had a little break. I found that this keeps
me motivated.

I just estimated the vocabulary of Assimil's Russian with Ease (Spanish) to be around
1500 words. The Penguin Course has about 1500 as well, while the cumulative vocabulary
for Modern Russian 1&2 (which I may have forgotten to mention I purchased)is
approximately 2800..
Considering any overlaps that maybe would put me at about 3000 words at least (I have
other courses as well). So much work...oh the joys of breaking away from Romance and
Germanic Languages...Alas I will continue on this wonderful linguistic journey...

Going to review all Russianpod101 lower intermediate lessons, almost halfway through
assimil!!! I just bought Living Languages Ultimate Russian Advanced Will do two texts
from now. I've started Listening-Reading Children's books.
Update 9/3:
Just watched "Black Lightning" Read two chapters of Penguin Russian to review my cases.
Time to buckle down and get through my materials :) Going to do an Assimil Lesson in a
few minutes. I'm going to do Linguaphone after I finish Assimil's course, but I'm going
to run the MP3's through Audacity to increase the speed maybe 10-15% to make things more
challenging.
