Thank you! For my podcasts I use
RussianPod101.com
BBC Russian Business News
http://russian.mypodcast.com/
http://www.indiana.edu/~celtie/portal.html
http://www.dw-world.de/dw/0,2142,4356,00.html
and Radio Canada International's Russian podcast
Basically a nice mix of News/Business related materials for natives, as well as
podcasts for those like us learning the language.
I just discovered that The Russkiy Mir Foundation (Russian version of the Alliance
Francaise) has two computer programs on their website that seem rather promising.
Specifically the "Russian for All" course seems good. The program comes in three levels
and has phonetics/reading exercises. Virtual representation of how one should produce
sounds, as well a voice recognition software.

I have now discovered SRS...Yes I knew about it before but never used it. Anki is know on
my android phone. In which I have two Russian decks including one for the 1000 most
common words...Anki is brilliant! In addition I'm flying through the LiveMocha.com
"lessons"...Basically I'm just trying to use some imagery to make the vocab stick...not a
huge fan of the later, but I can't complain if it works..

Update Long overdue but the semester is killing me. MBA program is so time consuming.
Continuous use of two Russian Anki Decks 1000 common words and 500 verbs. Purchased the
MT Vocab course and going through it now (just started). Bought the new version of
Assimil L'Russe (French base). Finished 1/3 of the Linguaphone course

Just like in French...the semester is almost over so I am studying for finals, once I'm
done I'll probably start going through Le Russe. The MT vocab course has been keeping me
busy in the gym, in line, while driving etc...bought some Advanced Russian software to
use after I'm done with my living language courses. Two programs from
http://lexiconbridge.com/ both are full video courses that have transcripts grammar
explanations w/ translations...think of them as video Assimil Advanced. I bought the 12
Chairs interactive, and the "Advanced Russian" course. Since the TORFL isn't offered in
the US I plan on taking the ACTFL Certified Proficiency Testing Programs for Russian
about a year from now.

About a quarter of the way through the new Russian Assimil course, and I find it
brilliant! I'm about a third of the way through the Penguin book. I'll go back and
finish the old Assimil book once I finish the new one. Then do the other 2/3 of
Linguaphone and then blast through both volumes of Living Language Ultimate Russian.
Vocab should be over 5000 at that point...I guess I'm essentially doing the 10k sentence
method without having noticed? O_o

I know probably over 1100-1200 words, and have a good grasp of grammar. Russian is definitely an interesting language. I could definitely get by in Moscow...simple chit-
chat here and there. Need more flow in my speaking.
