	Hi all. I'm currently studying Russian (Meaning I have a book the internet and an Ipod) and have been using the libraries Russian to English dictionary since the beginning. Due to a deal I've worked out with my mom I might be getting one of my own. (The deal is that if I fix a table she'll buy me a dictionary) My main question is, are their any particular dictionaries you would recommend? 1 person has voted this message useful

	As far as Russian monolingual dictionaries, here's a few recommendations off the top of my head: словарь Ефремовой (probably most recent and relevant, not complete for pre-1900 vernacular), словарь Ожегова (decent, simple), словарь Даля (old, outdated but still awesome, especially as a complement for a newer one), and "Большой толковый словарь современного русского языка" is something like OED for Russian. I don't know any Russian<->English dictionaries, ones I liked the most were electronic by Ectaco I think (expensive) just because they're fast. As a tip, consider googling "словарь russian_word" (for definition) or "орфоэпический словарь russian_word" (if you just want the accent) in lieu of a dictionary - it will usually give answers from all kinds of dictionaries including all of the above, for example I like this website searchable for 4-7 dictionaries simultaneously if you can type in Russian.
