I have just found a 16 course set of Pimsleur for 8 dollars at a local bookstore. As someone who enjoys learning, I had to buy it. I really don't like letting language programs sitting around and wasting so I am using it with my dad and big brother for fun. My goal is to complete this course and get well into Colloquial in one month, then I will start chatting on Skype with Romanians. I will really try to keep track of my progress here. Any feedback or cool links will be much appreciated

Day 1: I have completed unit one and two of Pimsleurs Romanian. With a family it takes the boring from using Pimsleur. I have also browsed the internet and this forum for info.

Day 2: Today I didn't feel much like pimsleur and spent time listening to music and doing Anki, maybe tomorrow I'll get some more done. I figure I spent maybe 35 minutes with Romanian today.

Should be a lot of fun, akprocks! A long time ago, I copied these links from the forum for on-line Romanian/Moldovan courses. You just never know when you might want to learn all of the Romance languages. LIMBA CARE NE UNEŞTE/ The language that unites us and A1 Romanian Hope this helps. I will enjoy following your progress.

Avea noroc!

I'm not going to do that day thing any more because it doesn't look very good. Well anyways, in terms of Romanian, there has been a lot studying reference grammars, a bit of Anki and Pimsleur unit 3. Romanian isn't too different then other languages I have worked on in terms of pronunciation, but the plural forms of nouns are unlike any other language I have studied. Do any of you have any techniques for learning Romanian plurals?

Just a bit of routine Anki and a review of the Pimsleur I've done so far. Not much accomplished today but I can fix that tomorrow.

OK, so now I've done Pimsleur 4, finished some more Anki and also read a reference grammar I own. I'm not going to do Romanian daily but now every other day. Spanish is first priority for now.

I noticed that in Romanian you attach the article to the end of the noun, which reminds me of Swedish. This isn't so bad, but their are still some difficult aspects, like the case system, as well as three genders. Yesterday I kept up with Anki and read lesson one and two in the Fsi grammar book.
Also here is my first Romanian sentence (with a dictionary): Eu vorbesc românește puţin, dar vreau să practice.

I haven't posted for a few days, I was too busy having summer fun to study for a while. (which is a terrible excuse) Well anyways I practiced by listening to Romanian music and watching 'Carmen Meets Borat', that was a pretty good movie. Anki was practiced a bit on the side of all this fun.
