Does anyone know of a program or macro that will automatically copy and paste highlighted text to a text or excel file? I'm trying to incorporate such a program with Globefish, a Firefox add-on which automatically translates highlighted text using Google Translate. The goal is to be able to read a foreign text with a one or two-click translation through Globefish, and then have the target word or phrase stored for possible export to Anki or to get an idea of how many unknown words there are in a given page, text, paragraph, etc.
Globefish alone is a huge help in making texts more comprehensible and increasing your reading speed, but I think the addition of a custom vocab list would make assembling material for Anki, Iverson's method, or Goldlisting much more efficient.
There are Mozilla add-ons that automatically copy highlighted text, but don't do the automatic pasting. I imagine this is possible with a script program like Autohotkey, but I don't know the program well enough to get it working. Any help or ideas are appreciated.

I don't know of any program that meets your exact requirements, but one of the many custom clipboard managers might be helpful.
I like Ditto. It's a clipboard manager that saves everything that you copy in a custom database that can be exported in many different formats.
Another more sophisticated possibility would be to create an AutoIt keyboard macro.
(Both programs are freeware and are fairly easy to use.)

Thanks again, Doitsujin, I've got Ditto running and it does exactly what I wanted.

Wonderful suggestion. Ditto is very useful. Also the OP's idea of using it to store things to later put into Anki is one that I believe I will be using a lot. Plus, I was familiar with Babelfish but not Globefish: once again, very useful. Thanks to both of you.
