Okay, this is the first entry where I will outline the targets of my learning path for
Spanish. It's actually my first entry anywhere on this site! Anyway, this should keep
me up to date and keep me in check for when I start to put 'learning' off and start
being lazy for what ever reason I come up with at the time; and force me to keep going!
I'm at absolute noob level with Spanish, so progress should be nigh! After being given
the following for Spanish for a ridiculous price (Free! Woo! Birthdays are awesome)from
an ex Spanish student, I should progress pretty well!
My resources are:
Rosetta Stone - Spanish (L1)
Michel Thomas - Spanish Foundation & Review, Spanish Advanced and Review, the
Spanish Builder and the Spanish Vocabulary.
Fluenz - an old version that was highly recommended to use (so if it's good then
I will buy 2,3,4,5 when completed)
Targets
Month 1 - August 2011
- Fluenz Spanish 1 - I will complete a lesson or two per day and will have the whole
course completed within the month. It looks quite friendly to use to start with which
should be great to introduce me to the language!
- I will listen to Michel Thomas' Spanish Foundation every weekend for a couple of
hours each day to expose his techniques to me + the Fluenz (as standard)
- I will also make use of the podcasts and text available on Audira (at least one per
day - even if it's listening to the same one over again)
- And finally I will watch the Spanish series 'Aida' and some Jim Carey films I found
over dubbed in Spanish to get used to rhythms and intonations in sentances and phrases.
Month 2 - September 2011
- The Michel Thomas foundation and foundation review will replace the Fluenz I was
using previously and hopefully will get quite far into this course. If not then I
continue into the next month; if I complete it before the end of the month then I will
re-do the foundation course to solidify the information.
- And finally I will also keep watching Aida, Telemundo and films etc.
I will update this log about once a week to track my progress and note any isuues,
problems, breakthroughs and 'oh yeah' moments that I encounter!
(Also if anyone reads this who can offer any advice then please do! I've checked other
posts and have found a lot of info and websites - but it's always nice to get some
personal advice :P )
