How did you communicate there, English, French? Did you have any language problems? |

No, we hadn't language problems at all; the most of tunisian can speak French. They prefer French than English I think, but in the hotel at the reception the people spoke french, English and German (I heard them). Some people spoke very well French and others lesser, but there were no difficulties at all. The tunisians have talent for languages and in the tourist places they can speak all languages -some sentences I mean. they always try to get your money for example sell the things in their shop or café, and this is annoying, but if you reply that you don't want and walk past it's ok. My parents were in Tunisia before so they knew about it. In the week i had an arabic lesson and I 've learned the alphabet. it was really fun but I don't want to learn it, only know the writting. |

Where did you learn the Arabic alphabet? Did you take some course there or was there something in the hotel you were staying at?

I just found this thread and thought it would be interesting to reawaken it. I can't seem to figure out how to get my maps to show up here, so here are the links to see them.
World Map
Europe Map
Some of the countries blend together or are hard to see (especially in Central America and the Caribbean), so here are the ones which I've visited:
Canada, the United States, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, France, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, Greece, and Tanzania.

I also haven't been anywhere else yet, but in January i'm going to visit Austria and Hungary, and maybe, if there's enough time, some other countries in Europe.

I can't make it work either, so here are those of mine that I remember right now:
Europe
Norway
Sweden
Denmark
Finland
England
Ireland
The Netherlands
Belgium (lived there)
France (lived there)
Spain (lived there)
Italy
Vatican City
San Marino
Luxembourg
Andorra
Portugal
Germany
Hungary
The Czech Republic
Russia
Ukraine
Romania
Austria
Poland
Rest of the world
Morocco (only for 4 hours)
Egypt
Israel
Jordan (2+2 hours - does that still count?)
China
Cuba
USA
and some Caribeean Islands that I an unsure whether are separate states, and I am not absolutely certain as to which ones we actually visited either... My only excuse is that it was my honeymoon, we were doing a cruise and were just led out like cattle at each island, and the local geography was not our phocus... I remember that we stayed at Puerto Rico (which I assume is being covered by the USA), to St. Barth which is French, and then we were on St. Kitts, St. Thomas, St. Lucia and possibly Barbados.
I see however that I need to do a lot more travelling to become a member of the club of as-many-countries as years. Boy, I lack almost 20. I'd better hit the road :-)
- I am planning to go to Island in two years
- the country I am most sorry for not having visited yet is Greece
- my life dream is to go to Mongolia
