It's my personal pity for this World Cup football that I have on my cable TV the channel "Eurosport" dubbed in German (Why not in English for example?) and the channel "Nederland 2" (Wheras all the football matches on Dutch TV are broadcasted on "Nederland 1") while I am eager to expand my knowledge of the football terminology in my foreign languages.
By the way, I also enjoy watching the World Cup/European Championship of women's football. Especially Germany, Sweden, USA and Brasil have very succesful teams in women's football.

Is anyone in the US able to get broadcasted non-English World Cup feeds (satellite?) or do you just watch online? |

I don't much like English commentators. The problem is the way they all have this rule where they have to be as neutral as possible. In other languages (cultures) this doesn't exist, and the commentators will openly support their team. That makes it more exciting, I think...

I had the unique occasion to listen to the commentator on Dutch TV via telephone after the Dutch team had won the match against Uruguay. He was indeed VERY excited and I enjoyed listening to his voice because I can't watch football matches on Dutch TV directly.

I always watch it in German when I can, though I must admit I prefer the English guys, they're much more fun to listen to =) Firstly the two English guys who do all the big matches know so much about football it's ridiculous and they usually have a nice bit of banter going on ;)
The German one is ok, but what really annoys me is that there's only one. Basically a guy talking to himself ^^ I miss the jokes and heated arguemnts :D

Same thing with me and french, we in Canada get the guys from Quebec so they don't really know soccer their soccer and their commentating style is nothing worth mentioning.
It was hard to stray away from the British guys. but I did this world cup:D
