Valhalla kinda suggests that we are "dead", sort of defeated. I'm not sure this is the
case :D

True, but it has the advantage that practically everybody associates the name with Scandinavian culture.
Last year we chose Asgard, but evidently it wasn’t evocative enough of Nordic mythology for it to represent our team towards other forum members. When last month we started discussing the new TAC and Team Asgard was mentioned as one of the few teams still active, someone clearly stated they didn’t know what “team Asgard” might refer to.
Let’s be honest, there aren’t many words with a strong Nordic connection that the average Joe is familiar with.
If Valhalla is

instead of the “death” aspect of the word Valhalla, we might want to stress the idea of a “chosen” group of “warriors” and “legendary heroes”.
Just my two cents. And I’m perfectly ok even if we decide to use another name.
EDIT: fixed quotation

Kos dokker med litt norsk reality-tv:
Anno
Ein slags Big Brother på 1700-tallet.
edit:
As for the team name, I'm ok with pretty much anything. I would add Odin as a suggestion,
because he should be well known and he is not only known as a god for warriors
(annihilation) but also as the god who invented the runes, ie. the written language. He is
also connected to wisdom and poetry. And of course he owns you all ;)

I think we should try to get people to discover Nordic culture.
In order to do that, the name of our Team should evoke something unfamiliar enough to arouse people's curiosity which hopefully will make them look it up. Odin, Valhalla and Thor are all well known and might not induce people to get more in
depth with Nordic mythology.
So I agree with tarvos: we should pick something less stereotypical, like Sleipnir or Bifröst. Both bridges between two worlds, exactly like languages :)
