Thanks for the responses. I have decided on Lisboa for a place to live. Probably we'll rent a small place in a
walking neighborhood outside the tourist areas. I saw pictures of Barrio Alto at night and it is very crowded. If it's too expensive we may go out to the suburbs, but then you just spend your time and money on transportation. My son has started studying (mostly watching Portuguese cartoons) and he is already picking up some words and can hear a lot. This is his usual pattern. I'm just trying to keep up with him.
