An online textbook that covers all the grammar, gives a lot of vocabulary and has exercises - http://www.verdadrako.50g.com/asap.html

All these websites look good. Do you think that someone could learn the language with just these sites?

It's probably good enough for reading and writing skills, and if the audio is good I suppose one could learn to speak it. One of my plans for this year is to have a look at the Lernu material.

Is it that bad? In what way is it outdated? Sorry to bring back an old thread its just that I've recently become quite interested in Esperanto.

Assimil publishes L'Esperanto Sans Peine. You can get it from Amazon.fr.
It is also listed on Amazon.com and Amazon.uk but must be ordered.
I love Assimil and don't understand the comment that the book is outdated.
I second the lernu site. The course is very good and the price is right ( free).
Teach Yourself Esperanto is an excellent textbook. You can get a used copy by going to a site like bookfinder.com.
This is the largest comparison used book site on the net that I know of. I always check it before I buy a used book
anywhere else. It will help you find the best quality edition and cheapest price.

If you want to have an audio-intensive course, try Lernu's "Mi estas komencanto". They offer an all-mp3 version if you look hard enough.
Also, definitely take advantage of the free tutoring service (lingvo-helpantoj), as a tutor will not just answer your doubts but also keep you motivated to some extend.

just use lernu.
lernu is awesome and enthusiastic, and it's quite enjoyable as you learn through games etc.
