In my mailbox today, I received a letter stating that I passed the DELE B2 exam which I took in August 2010 (though I already knew that I passed the exam according to the Website of Cervantes Institute some when in early October last year). What surprised me is that it took them 5 months to send exam notifications (and not the certificates yet) to those who have passed (or failed for that matter) the DELE exam. Guess, it'll take some more months before the certificate finally arrives.... |

By the way, while learning Dutch, I find that there're some Dutch words that I just can't pronounce well, since the sounds do not really exist in the languages that I know!
Take the word "uit" eg. ik kom uit Duitsland.
And also, when someone asks us something, and we can reply "ja, hoor"...to me, it sounds kinda funny, it's like saying "ja, whore"....hehehehehe....apart from that, it's a very cute language :)

Oh my, it's been ages since I last updated my log here...however, as I just received a piece of good news this morning, I thought I should write it here :)
I have been accepted to the MA translation through distance learning with the University of Bristol! Well, even though I am well aware of the 'difficulties/challenges/issues facing the translation industry, I am pursuing a MA in translation studies primarily out of pure interest for languages...besides, from what I understood, translation studies at the masters level are more academically inclined ie. one studies translation from a more academic and linguistic perspective, rather than actually translating docs per se, as the Institute of Linguists would better serve this purpose.
Now, I can't wait to begin my course :)
