After reading many people's learning logs, I finally decided to start my own learning
log. I'm Korean who is into learning different languages, well, obviously. I have been
studying English, Japanese and Spanish in chronological order.

Just like any other ordinary Koreans, I've met this new foreign language called English
when I was in a middle school. I've been studying English even since. I've never had a
chance to go abroad to study English. However, I've got interested in English and other
foreign languages when I was in college. So I've tried many different things to improve
my English such as watching massive TV shows, reading books and communicating with real
people. I consider myself fairly fluent in English. But there is always room for
improvement, and my primary goal is to refine the outputs, speaking and writing. To do
that, not only I need to practice speaking and writing, also I need to read and listen.
I don't consider particularly studying English is something I should do as a goal of
this year. This is now a part of my life. I enjoy many things through English, TV,
movies, books, podcasts, and etc. Having said that, probably I might not write
something about English as often as other two relatively newer languages I'd like to
focus.

Whoa, that was long. I'd keep this simpler.

Japanese. It's been a little more than 3 years since I started learning Japanese. As a
Korean, Japanese is one of the easiest languages that Korean people can learn. Maybe
only one language that Korean can truly relate to. *Sigh* Considering a way shorter
time I put into Japanese compared to English, my Japanese speaking is not bad. The
biggest problem that I have, probably just like everybody else who is studying
Japanese, is Kanji, it means reading! These days, I'm more focusing on reading. Of
course, improving speaking skill shouldn't be abandoned. I mainly use LingQ as a tool
for this purpose. After a couple of weeks of reading at LingQ, I'm already feeling much
more confident in recognizing many Kanjis.

Spanish. Okay. I should admit that 2011 is the second year of my Spanish and I
absolutely do NOT feel like it. My Spanish sounds like someone who only studies Spanish
a couple of weeks. Greetings. Introduction. Present tense for every situation. Main
focus is to enhance my vocabulary! Right now, I'm reviewing something called "Spanish
Top 2000 words" I'm not really a big fan of SRSing word only cards, but it seems the
fastest way to cover the basics. I am also trying to read easy articles at LingQ and
listen to some podcasts for beginners such as coffee break Spanish. Fortunately, I have
a Mexican friend who wants to study Korean. I'm going to do some language exchange with
him, which I don't have any clue how to proceed yet.

I'm planning to leave my language learning log here at least once a week to keep myself
motivated. Any comments are going to be appreciated. :)

Thanks!
