When I downloaded some of the "newbie" lessons from ChinesePod the other night they all
had the pinyin (with tone number), characters, and English translation. So I can confirm
that they are on the lower levels.

I just figured out that you can add lyrics to your display under the Lyrics option in Itunes under Get Info. What I do now is edit the dialogs from Chinese Learn Online and then copy and paste the dialog text from the website into Lyrics and voila, I have the dialog displayed with the MP3.
Maybe some know this already but others may find it helpful.

Does anyone know if you have to pay for one of the different levels in Chinespod or once you subscribe you can have access to all of them ( newbie, beginner, intermediate and so on )?

Once you subscribe you have access to all of them. At least you did when I was hanging there and I can't imagine they'd change that.

Thanks for the info Ari, i took a look a it and i may give it a shot after revising a little more the Assimil Chinese course, i think it could be worthwhile even thought some of the most basic lessons of chinespod might overlap Assimil .
