Has anyone used the book Dutch: An Essential Grammar by William Shetter. I'm looking for a good Dutch grammar book that I can work through. Also, if you are familiar with it, do you think it can take the place of Routledge's Intensive Dutch Course, or are they really for different purposes?
Thanks.

The grammar book is good. I like it very much.
The intensive course is more like a...well, coursebook. It has more dialogues and texts to read. I think Teach Yourself Dutch + Intensive Dutch Course + Dutch Essential Grammar could be a good combination to start learning the language.

Thanks a lot Arturs. I'm already using Assimil, which I like a lot. So, I'll use that + Intensive Dutch + Dutch Essential Grammar.
