Today I decided to study both French and Japanese at the same time.
I was juggling back and forth quite a lot, to be frank. I would study Japanese for a bit and then I would switch to studying French. Mostly because I got bored of studying one language.
But now that I am studying them both daily, it's really crazy... but it feels like my brain is actually assimilating both languages better than when I was studying either one or the other.
Another thing I noticed today. Awhile ago I was hanging out with a friend. (A long long while ago, like 2-3 months ago.) And I asked her how to say some things in Spanish. It's really crazy but being told those things while out in real life (Having her point at a house and tell me it was casa) really made the words stick.
Anyways, ramblings over. I'm going to have to take a week off of studying on Saturday, so hopefully I won't forget what I've learned!

I hate studying French in the way I study Japanese.
To me, I'm still fluent-ish in French (even though this is not true).
So I tend to watch a lot of stuff in French. Whereas I tend to do a lot of textbook and flashcard-based learning for Japanese.
I have tried to sit down with French and do the same, but I already understand grammar. I was exposed to it a lot in school as a child, and have retained a lot. But it doesn't mean I can give you an English translation of what I hear/read. And it also doesn't mean I can respond in French.
I have this weird gap in my brain with French. Bah. Oh well, I shall keep on trucking. (I really need to learn this for myself.)
With Japanese though, I mostly just listen to music. I do my flashcards, and I use my textbooks as well as dictionaries. And I really enjoy it. I wish I could enjoy doing this with French as well, as I think it would really help boost my progress in it.
As far as French goes, I do my flashcards (begrudgingly), and I watch the French In Action videos (sometimes). But mostly I just turn on my French TV and watch.
Oh well. I just need some more self discipline, I guess. :)
