So after my 3 week trip to Europe where 10 was spent with a friend in Slovakia (native herself), I've now got a ton of
inspiration to learn Slovak. I bought Slovak for You from a book store there and plan to get on it right away! What's
funny is a lot of people (at least in the US) have never even heard of this place, so I would say it's pretty darn cool.

Welcome to the club. But I would recommend "Krizom krazom" book - amazing stuff to learn basics. With this book Slovak is as easy as pie.

if you want listen to some native speakers I can recommend you slovak radio

there is mostly spoken (news, interviews, etc..) with good accent and from time to time
some music:)
