Yes, it's very very famous. They still show it. It's called "Chaves" here.

It's been on air for approximately 30 years in Brazil. Everyone knows it here, and yes, it's dubbed. I used to love it when I was a child, but I watched the same episodes so many times that I can't stand watching it anymore. But it's fun, if you haven't seen all episodes more than 10 times, I recommend it.

As a side note, I'd like to apologize for this topic. I have been thinking about the usefulness of Spanish, and how friendly and beautiful Spanish and Latin girls are.
The irony is that I'm seriously studying it now. It'd be a waste of knowledge not learning a language so useful and close to my native. I thought it would be extremely easy, but it's not like that. It's indeed very very easy, but a big problem I'm facing now is how to stop using Portuguese words when speaking or writing Spanish. The Portuñol curse is on me now. At least I can pick random Wiki articles (to learn by exposure) and understand barely everything (three or four unknown words per article).

@ Matheus. I would stop reading and writing Spanish for a while if I were you and spend a
good period of time listening (TV, radio etc) and speaking. The one area where Spanish
and Portuguese are VERY different is the pronunciation. If you concentrate very hard on
getting an excellent pronunciation in the short term, I think it will help you keep the
two languages separate in your head in the long run. Just a thought.

Thanks for the advice. It probably might help.

The irony of this thread is that what makes Portuguese such a challenge for me is that whenever I try to produce Portuguese (speaking, writing), eventually it comes out in Spanish.
