Gracias, ellasevia.

Spanish
I started the day reviewing my vocabulary. Afterwards I had breakfast in bed while reading another 20 pages of Mario Vargas Llosa's latest novel "El sueño del celta". Today I watched 4 chapters of my telenovela "Alguien te mira" - but not in row. I also read a bit in my Spanish magazine "ECOS" and added all unknown words to my ANKI. In the late afternoon I wrote a report about my trip to Portugal last May and sent it to my Peruvian language partner for corrections.

Portuguese
I worked with the verb book and added 95 verbs to ANKI. Most of them were familiar but I had the feeling I wouldn't be able to remember them if I had to speak or write Portuguese. I find it really difficult to work out a decent study plan because my passive knowledge of the language is so much better than my active Portuguese. I watched some Brazilian stuff on YouTube and understood almost everything.

Norwegian
I only reviewed the vocabulary that were due today but didn't add any new words to ANKI. Afterwards I finished the exercises of chapter 14 of my course book and so my homework for the next Norwegian class in January is done. However, I have an accompanying booklet which has more exercises and I intend to do them in the next couple of days.

Czech
Just as with Norwegian I only reviewed my Czech vocabulary but didn't add anything new. I listened to the text of chapter 5 of my course book several times and then read it aloud twice. Afterwards I did the first three exercises of that chapter.

I had first thought of writing something each day but that will never work out, I'm just not disciplined enough :-). So instead I now intend to do a weekly update every Sunday or Monday starting on January 2.

Olá nuriayasmin.

Como já disseram, você têm uma seleção bastante interessante de idiomas aqui. Tcheco e
Norueguês estão na minha lista para um futuro próximo, portanto acompanharei com atenção
o seu log.

Se precisar de alguma ajuda com o Português, é só falar.

Boa sorte no TAC 2011!
Ricardo.

My first week of TAC was quite all right, taking into account that I worked night shifts which I finished this morning. Well, right now I've been awake for about 28 hours and hope I won't write too much nonsense. So here's just a quick update:

Spanish
I finished reading "El sueño del celta" by Mario Vargas Llosa. It's a great book and quite easy to read, I really recommend it. I also did some grammar exercises and continued to watch my telenovela "Alguien te mira". My ANKI cards have increased to 806 for Spanish.

Portuguese
I studied some grammar and have now 218 Portuguese ANKI cards. I'm still a bit uncertain about how to continue with Portuguese. Infact, I'd like to write a text of one page about once a week and send it to a native speaker for correction. Perhaps one of the Brazilians here is interested to become my language partner? Otherwise, I'll try to find someone elsewhere.

Norwegian
I finished chapter 14 of "Et år i Norge", including all additional grammar excercises of the accompanying booklet and started to add the vocabulary of chapter 15 to ANKI. I've now got 1,422 Norwegian ANKI cards.

Czech
I finished chapter 5 of my course book and started to add the vocabulary of chapter 6 to ANKI so that I've now got 726 Czech cards. As I'm still struggling with the declinations I decided to work with a second book and ordered "Teach yourself Czech". I also had a look at FSI Czech FAST and may use it, too.

Last not least, I'm proud to say that I'm up-to-date with my ANKI reviews.

It's one of my goals for next week to write my next log entry in Spanish. I wanted to do so today but I feel too exhausted.

You can submit writings over on lang-8.com and a native will correct them for you. I don't know the makeup of native speakers (especially for Norwegian and Czech), but Spanish and Portuguese shouldn't be a problem. =)

Você tem usado o site “Lang-8”? Ali pode escrever textos em qualquer idioma e os falantes nativos corrigem o texto e dão sugestões para você para melhorá-lo. Eu o tenho usado pelo meu sueco (porque o livro que usava tinha exercícios de tradução, mas não tinha as repostas), e sempre recebia as correções dos nativos muito prontamente.

EDIT: Oh, it looks like Kerrie beat me to posting here. Oh well, here's some Portuguese reading practice for you. :)

There are a couple Czechs over on lang-8, including me, and if you post something, it generally gets corrected. (The number of Czechs willing to help with Czech seems to exceed the number of people willing to struggle with the same :) ) Just be sure to post a link here, I'm watching your log, but I'm not on lang-8 every day.
