Hey Whitefish, I like your log and hope you'll keep it up, however
sporadically. Jimbo and I want to keep track of your progress. Plus, you are taking a
very different approach than I am, and it's useful to me to see how you are learning.
Thanks for the link for Pleasant Goat and Very Big Wolf. It does look cute and I can
follow enough of it to make it interesting. Now here's a dumb question: how do you go
from one episode to the next? Did you link to the first episode?
It's frustrating that I can't read well enough to navigate the web page. Any help you
can offer would be great. (And so you see, we need you here!) |

Just below the screen, you should see "第1集“ (1st episode),”第2集“ (2nd episode),"第3
集” (3rd episode) etc. Click on those.

It's so funny that you ask this question, because it took me forever to figure out how to find them as well! Like
strikingstar said, they're just below the video itself.

I don't know how your Februarathon's going, but I'm pretty sure this is exactly what you requested I draw. I hope you've been successful, and continue as such.

Whitefish, where are you? I need more suggestions for easy Mandarin immersion materials!

NuclearGorilla - That is the most beautiful goat I have ever seen.
Thanks both jimbo and LiFei, but I've been lurking around quite a bit. February's been pretty successful so far, and I plan to update once the month is done.

And now I'm sick and I don't feel like doing much other than sitting and bed and going to sleep, so I'm going to link to some of my favourite resources this month:
Shanghai Radio - literally listen to this the whole evening if I'm able to. Still going over my head, but I can make out a lot more words and such, sometimes enough to get a fuzzy meaning of what their talking about.
Mop BBS - my favourite place to read idiomatic Chinese. The threads are sometimes of questionable merit, but it's interesting to read the thoughts of real life Chinese people.
死神少女 - OBSESSED. It's sometimes corny, but I love it!
http://www.youku.com/ pptv.com - don't think these need any explanation.
Online TV - Nature documentaries in Mandarin? Yes please.
明報 iPod App - the very best; I can read Chinese news anywhere!
And finally, a sh$t load of books from my local library. Cheesy Taiwanese romance novels, books on Chinese history and philosophy, magazines; it has it all. I've also put a hold and a bunch of Mandarin movies I plan to watch this weekend.
More later.

Rumours of my death are greatly overexaggerated :]
Closing in on 2000 characters. Obviously a lot slower than I originally set, but I'm getting there!
