I've been trying to learn Swedish on and off for too long. I've decided to really focus
with it now and take it one step at a time rather than collecting and diving into as many books, CD's, software etc. I decided to set up a blog too so I make sure I have a diary of some kind to keep track of what I'm trying. I'll try to keep upto date in this forum of the techniques I find useful I'm guessing a link to my blog will be in my profile if anyone wants to take a look :) 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

I like Swedish too! :) I have been learning it for five years now, but I'm not fluent yet. I think the grammar is easy but I find it difficult to pronounce words with a correct accent.

Hej!
I've been learning Swedish for 10 months now and I'm enchanted by its sounds and tones. Words similar to those occuring in English or German make learning Swedish easier indeed, especially to people whose mother tongue is a Germanic language. Although mine is Slavic, knowledge of English and partially German is still very helpful. My goal is going to Sweden as an Erasmus student next year.
I can pronounce it right, even though it was quite difficult at the beginning! :) Sje-ljudet is my favourite sound in Swedish. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

I worked on Swedish for about a month and then had to put it aside to focus on more "important" languages to my
career. I love the language though and plan on learning it in a few years. I have about four languages that I have to learn first. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Ni handlar om det svenska språket, så måste ni tala på svenska här!
Jag tror att det är inte så svårt om du är flytande på engelska. Jag lär mig svenska sedan en hålvår och jag gillar det, det svenska språket är mycket väcker.
