Hey everybody, after a very long hiatus on languages for 3 months, I'm back in action,
more determined than ever to master the languages Russian and Latin. I have a low-
intermediate level in Russian in every aspect and a medium level in Latin grammar-wise
with a poor vocabulary. I'm at lesson 21 or Pimsleur Russian (Which I've done 3 months
ago) and left Latin at the end of book 2 of Cambridge Latin Course. But how will I get
back in shape with these languages let alone master them?
Well, time is fortunately not of the essence. I want to take AP Latin and TORFL in 2
years, so it's some, though not a lot of time. I plan on finishing Pimsleur Russian
while simultaneously studying from Reading Modern Russian and will document every
single word (Except for different conjugations/declensions) into Anki, and speaking
about Latin, I will completely restart Cambridge Latin Course and do the exact same
with Anki. I figure it will move pretty fast and my vocabulary will be on par with my
grammar. These are the goals only for this log. Once they're met, I can be assured that
these languages will be truly "revived" and I'm ready to move on to more advanced
studies.
So how will I train? Well, since I've hard school curriculum and am a powerlifter
(Hence the workout terms in this log), I naturally do not have an awful lot of time for
studying languages, but have created a nice transition split for the purpose. Here it
goes:
Wednesday: Russian from Pimsleur Russian, one lesson at a time.
Saturday: Latin from Cambridge Latin Course, high volume, intense session.
Sunday: Russian from Reading Modern Russian, high volume, intense session.
Monday: Latin from Cambridge Latin Course, low volume.
So, without further ado, todays log:

13.04.11, Wednesday: Pimsleur Russian Unit II Lesson 21
Objectively easy. The first dialog was very hard to understand because the speakers spoke
very fast, probably at everyday conversational speed so I had to repeat the audio just
after that part, but got it correct the second time. I was baffled by the fact that after
3 months, this was all a breeze. I hadn't forgotten a single word! I think I had a 90-95%
rate of success, which is great. Did not plug anything to Anki since I don't know the
spellings of the words, but will do on my "high intensity" Russian day.
