Let's see how far I can get in six weeks. I've never seriously studied a language before although I've always been interested in learning one.
Background:
3 years of high school Spanish and 4 years of faking Latin classes sadly equates to poor Spanish skills, but I at least have a solid foundation of grammar. In the past two weeks I attempted to learn 1000 Spanish vocab words, so I have a bit of a head-start.
Current Method:
The only language blog I've ever read was www.alljapaneseallthetime.com . Perhaps I have been brainwashed by that blog. I'm cheap so my current study method will be as follows:
- Go through Wiktionary's Spanish Frequency vocabulary list http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Wiktionary:Frequency_lists#Spa nish
- When I find a word I don't easily understand, I'll find an example sentence of it on www.tatoeba.org
- Copy the sentence for review into Anki (I already have 270 sentences from last week)
- Read and listen to BBC Mundo
I'm open for suggestions. I plan to soon be able to write future entries in Spanish only. Hopefully someone can get at least something useful out of this journal.
Here we go!
