I am revising my understanding of Madina Arabic book 1 and I am working with Mastering
Arabic 1.
I am reviewing chapter 13 in Madina book 1, where they introduce broken plurals. This
is about the point where I started rushing when I first did this book. The broken
plurals were a stumbling block.
I am almost done with chapter 9 of Mastering Arabic 1. I have been introduced to quite
a lot of what is in this book, but by no means every little thing. The next chapter is
counting things 1-10. I know the masculine numbers, but not the feminine version.
Chapter 11 is colors and shapes. I know the masculine color words, but not the
feminine, and I don't know the shapes at all. That chapter includes 2 broken plural
forms. I'm trying to get to that before I pass where I am in revising what I know of
the Madina book.
One thing I like about the Mastering Arabic book is that just enough is already
familiar that it feels like I am making fast progress, and that is encouraging me to
press on harder. I also like that this book has so many exercises.
After a while I might take a break from these two and work with some of my other
learning materials. There is some redundancy which helps with reviewing and revising.
Tomorrow I will do M.A. chapter 10 and perhaps start chapter 11. After chapter 11 I
will return to Madina book 1.
